Trailblazer Pathfinder Activities

Come join Robin Hood, Maid Marian, and the Sherwood Forest gang. Hit the bull's eye more often by developing and improving skills in a sport guaranteed to satisfy any camper.

Weeks 1-6 only 

Week 7: The Golden Arrow Tournament - Get ready for the ultimate challenge of skill focus, and a little friendly competition! The Golden Arrow Tournament brings together the top 18-20 archers from across Trailblazer Camp (split by gender) to compete head-to-head in an exciting showdown. Campers will put their aim and concentration to the test as they compete for the chance to earn the Golden Arrow title. May the best archer win!
Campers must be enrolled at camp Week 7 to be considered for this annual event

Come and create while learning various techniques and styles during this exciting art rotation. This Pathfinder is led by local art teachers. See below for the themed weeks!
Limited to 18 campers 

Week 1: 2-Point Perspective and 3-D Art - Campers will learn to utilize 2-point perspective to create 3-dimensional artwork. The culmination of the art this week will be to create their own city corner with a touch of their personal style!

Weeks 2 & 3: Alternative Tie-Dye - Campers will get to try out some fun and different ways of tie-dyeing?moving beyond the usual swirl-and-color designs. The focus is on experimenting with how different techniques can create really unique patterns and effects on fabric. Please note that some of the materials used may include items like bleach and hydrogen peroxide. These will be used carefully and always under close supervision. The goal is to safely explore how different materials can change fabric and to encourage creativity, curiosity, and hands-on learning.
Limited to one week per camper 
Campers will need to bring in a white and dark t-shirt

Weeks 4 & 5 - These two weeks will be dedicated to props and scenery for The Lion King, KIDS. See the Props and Scenery description below.

Week 6: Balloon and String 3-D Project - Campers will get to work on three-dimensional structures using basic supplies like balloons and twine/string to create a masterpiece that can be put on display in any household. Creating a hardened string shell, the campers can create their own scenic art to show off.

Week 7: Northern Lights Paint Project - Campers will take the opportunity to utilize paint and reproduce some of the most iconic natural sights, the Northern Lights!

Caitlin Clark and LeBron James both started somewhere. Join this Pathfinder to build your game while having fun in a supportive environment led by current and former high school and college basketball athletes. Campers will practice essential skills like shooting, dribbling, defense, rebounding, and more, while developing confidence and teamwork. If there is enough interest, players may also take part in a 45-minute friendly game.
Weeks 1-7 

Whether you are mastering strategy in Catan and Ticket to Ride or enjoying quick-paced rounds of Sushi Go!, Codenames, and classic favorites like Uno or Chess, there is a seat at the table for everyone! Campers will dive into the world of tabletop gaming while developing critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills through lighthearted competition. Join your friends to learn new skills, challenge your peers, and discover why board games are a summer staple for gamers of all levels!

In this one-week Ceramics Pathfinder program, campers are introduced each day to a new hand-building technique and then have time to explore their own creative ideas in clay. Using a one-fire glaze, campers add color and finish to their work, which transforms into a glossy glass-like surface in the kiln. By the end of the week, campers will have a unique ceramic piece that reflects their creativity and their experience working with clay.
Limited to no more than 15 campers 
Week 1: Ages 7-9 and Week 2: Ages 10-12 

Bring your spirit and enthusiasm to Cheerleading! Campers will learn age-appropriate cheers, chants, motions, jumps, and simple routines while building confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. Through games, practice, and performance, campers will discover how cheerleading combines athleticism, creativity, and school spirit in a fun and supportive environment.
Weeks 2, 3, 7 

Are you the next Julia Child or Gordon Ramsay in the making? Each week, our Cooking session will feature a fun new theme where campers explore recipes and build kitchen skills in a hands-on, engaging environment. All food prepared will be peanut and tree-nut-free to ensure a safe experience for all campers. A full menu and ingredient list will be shared with families on the Friday before each session so they can review and confirm it works for any dietary needs or allergies.
Limited to 16 campers each week: 8 campers ages 7-9 and 8 campers ages 10-12 
Weeks 1-4 

Week 1: Around the World in 5 Days - Campers will travel the globe through food as they create recipes inspired by different countries and cultures from around the world. Throughout the week, mini chefs will build confidence in the kitchen while practicing important cooking skills like reading recipes, measuring ingredients, using kitchen tools safely, and trying new flavors in a fun and hands-on environment.

Week 2: Let's Roll - Campers will explore the art of rolling, shaping, and creating hands-on recipes from around the world, including foods like gnocchi, mochi, onigiri, summer rolls, energy bites, and possibly crepes. Throughout the week, mini chefs will practice teamwork, kitchen organization, fine motor skills, and food preparation techniques while discovering how different cultures use similar cooking methods in creative and delicious ways.

Week 3: Sizzle & Stir - Campers will fire up the kitchen as they explore the exciting world of stovetop cooking through stir fries, fried rice, noodles, curries, and other one-pan creations. Throughout the week, campers will practice important cooking skills like saut?ing, sequencing ingredients, balancing flavors, and safely working with heat. From sizzling vegetables to flavorful sauces, this hands-on week is all about creativity, teamwork, and learning how simple ingredients can come together to make delicious meals.

Week 4: Mini Chef Challenge Week - Campers will put their creativity and kitchen skills to the test through fun, fast-paced cooking missions. Throughout the week, mini chefs will work together to build colorful creations, experiment with flavors, practice presentation skills, and bring their own food ideas to life in a supportive and exciting kitchen environment.

Get creative in Arts & Crafts! Campers will explore a variety of hands-on projects using different materials and techniques while expressing their unique artistic style. Special projects will include weaving and creating custom magnets during two of the three weeks, along with plenty of opportunities for painting, drawing, and making. Every session is designed to encourage creativity, imagination, and fun.

Get ready to bust a move at Dance pathfinder! Whether you're a seasoned dancer or just looking to have fun, our inclusive and energetic dance floor has something for everyone. With a DJ spinning your favorite hits and classic camp songs, this event is sure to have you dancing the night away. Grab your friends, put on your dancing shoes, and come make memories that will last a lifetime at our camp dance!

Ready, aim, throw! Dodgeball is a team sport in which players have to dodge or catch the balls thrown by their opponents while also attempting to hit their opponents in the same way. The goal of each team is to eliminate all the members of the opposing team by hitting them with thrown balls, catching the ball thrown at them by the opposing team, or leading the opponents to break the rules, such as stepping outside the court. A variety of foam dodgeballs are used.

With a wealth of performance experience and a passion for working with children of all ages, Tr. Gary is ready to bring the stage to life. This year, campers will bringThe Lion King, KIDS to life through acting, singing, movement, and creative collaboration as they build confidence and performance skills on stage.

NEW THIS YEAR - The Lion King, KIDS Video Auditions
This year, auditions for The Lion King. KIDS will begin with a video submission. At the start of camp, all pre-enrolled campers will receive audition materials that include a short song selection and scene from the show. To help everyone feel prepared and confident, Teacher Gary will provide a video tutorial that teaches the music, acting choices, and audition expectations step by step. Campers who choose to audition live will have the opportunity on Monday, July 6.

We?re excited to welcome back former Archery instructor, Sofia Seidel, to camp this summer to lead this new Pathfinder activity! In this beginner-friendly session, with step-by-step guidance, campers will learn basic hand stitching techniques. They will then use those skills to transform drawings and text into embroidery and creatively embellish anything they want, like old articles of clothing (brought from home) or patches they can add to backpacks and jackets. There will be lots of room for exploration, experimentation, and finding the best way to express their ideas. Come discover the flow of stitching!

The Guinness World Record for the longest continuous game of flag football is 62 hours! Well, I don't think we can top that time at camp, but if you like a fast-paced game, try flag football! Flag football is sure to be a hit with campers. This summer during Flag Football, campers will learn the game, practice skills and drills, and participate in games.
Weeks 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 

Free Swim is open to any camper during Pathfinder time. You will have access to the pool to play games with your friends, practice your strokes, or just cool down and float!
Weeks 1-7 

A friendship bracelet is a bracelet given by one person to another as a symbol of friendship. The origins of the friendship bracelet are said to lie with the Indigenous Peoples in Central and South America. According to tradition, one places a bracelet on the wrist of a friend as a symbol of friendship and may wish for something at that moment. The bracelet is worn to honor the time, energy, and love put into their friendship. You can also make bracelets for yourself! Come join this fun activity and see what colors and patterns you can put together!
Weeks 1-7 

Improv is a form of live theatre in which the plot, characters, and dialogue of a game, scene, or story are made up at the moment. Improv is unique in that if you see a performance, that's it...there will never be another show exactly like it ever done again. Improv is different every time! If you like drama games, being silly, and being spontaneous, this is the Pathfinder for you!
Weeks 1, 7 

Campers will explore creativity and design as they create their own wearable art. Using a variety of colorful, age-appropriate materials, campers will learn simple techniques to string, pattern, and assemble unique pieces like bracelets and necklaces. This hands-on activity encourages fine motor skills, focus, and self-expression as campers design jewelry they can proudly wear or share.
Weeks 2-7 

Do you love to sing and perform in front of others? Do you have a favorite song that you were hoping to learn the words to fluently? Then join Karaoke Pathfinder! Bring yourself to this fun-filled activity where a microphone and speaker are your besties! What is your GO TO song?
Weeks 3-6 

Campers will enjoy a fun and active hour filled with teamwork, movement, and friendly competition.
Campers will practice basic kickball skills such as kicking, throwing, catching, running bases, and working together as a team.
Weeks 1, 3, 5, 7 

Come learn to knit! Or come practice the knitting skills you already have! This Pathfinder is perfect whether you just want to know how to get started or if you already know some basic stitches and want to work on your skills. Beginner to intermediate projects will be available!

Week 4 

Thinking about becoming the next Broadway star? Come and explore the exciting world of singing, acting, and movement while building confidence and creativity. Throughout the week, campers will learn fun theater games, practice basic stage skills, and work together on short musical numbers and scenes.
Week 2 

Get ready for a variety of fun and exciting games in this active Pathfinder session! Campers will enjoy favorites like Capture the Flag, Sharks & Minnows, and Steal the Bacon, along with other classic PE-style games that keep everyone moving, laughing, and working together. This is a great opportunity to run around, build teamwork skills, and have fun with friends while staying active and energized each day.
Weeks 2, 4, 5, 6 

Help bring the Pride Lands to life! In Props and Scenery, campers will work together to design and create the sets, scenery, and stage props for our production of The Lion King, Kids. Using paint, cardboard, fabric, and other creative materials, campers will transform everyday supplies into Pride Rock, jungle scenes, and theatrical treasures while learning the art of behind-the-scenes storytelling.

TB Camp this summer to lead Robotics sessions for campers. Campers will dive into the world of robotics through hands-on building, problem-solving, and basic coding concepts, working together to design and test their own creations while building teamwork and critical thinking skills.

Experience the excitement of soccer as campers build their skills and confidence, whether it is making a great pass, scoring a goal, defending against a fast player, or coming up with a big save. Join Lower School music teacher and girls? varsity coach Galen Guidon for this fun Pathfinder, where campers will work on skills, drills, and then enjoy a friendly pickup match while improving both individual and team play.

The show couldn't happen without the Stage Crew! Campers will learn the behind-the-scenes skills that bring a production to life, including set changes, prop management, organization, and teamwork. Working alongside the cast and scenery crews, stage crew members will play an essential role in helping The Lion King, KIDS run smoothly from rehearsal to performance.

Join us for an exciting summer of hands-on learning and creativity at STEAM Pathfinder! Each week features a new theme designed to spark curiosity and imagination.

Week 1: Exploring Solar Energy - Discover the power of the sun in this hands-on STEAM adventure! Campers will explore how solar energy is captured and used to power technology while investigating renewable energy through fun experiments and challenges. The week will culminate in designing, building, and testing solar-powered cars, giving campers the chance to think like engineers, problem-solvers, and innovators.
Limited to campers ages 10-12 

Weeks 2: Kitchen Chemistry - Mix, stir, fizz, and discover in Kitchen Chemistry! Campers will explore the science hidden in everyday ingredients through hands-on experiments and creative challenges. From bubbling reactions and colorful mixtures to edible investigations, campers will learn about chemical and physical changes while developing curiosity, observation skills, and a love of scientific discovery.

Weeks 3 & 6: Rocketry - Blast off into learning with our Rocketry session! From exciting stomp rocket launches to designing and building group rockets of our own, campers will explore the basics of flight, force, and engineering in a hands-on way. Working together, they?ll experiment, problem-solve, and test their creations as they launch into the sky. This high-energy Pathfinder is all about curiosity, teamwork, and reaching new Heights?literally!
Limited to campers ages 10-12 

Weeks 4 & 5: Puppetry - Bring stories to life by designing and building moveable puppets! In this Pathfinder, campers will work together to create puppets for our production of The Lion King, KIDS, exploring how engineering plays a key role in designing structures, mechanisms, and moving parts that bring characters to life on stage.

In our Technology Pathfinder, campers will explore engaging educational software and carefully selected websites like Minecraft Edu. Using Chromebooks, campers will build creativity, problem-solving, and digital skills in a fun and guided environment.

Meet with a camp staff member to swing the bat/racquet, run the bases, field that ground ball, and turn a double play. All levels and abilities are welcome.
Weeks 2, 4, 6 

Learn the exciting sport of Ultimate Frisbee with coaches from the Philadelphia Phoenix, Philadelphia's professional Ultimate team (Weeks 1 and 3) and nationally ranked players (Week 6)! Campers will develop throwing, catching, teamwork, and game strategy skills through fun drills and games. Ultimate is known for its emphasis on sportsmanship, respect, and personal responsibility, making it a great way to build both athletic and leadership skills.

Even the best athletes practice yoga! In this session, campers will explore simple, kid-friendly yoga poses that help build strength, flexibility, balance, and focus. Through fun movement and breathing exercises, campers will learn how to stretch, relax, and improve body awareness in a calm and supportive environment.
